Different text types have different grammatical features. Pupils are exposed to a wide variety of text types (i.e. narrative, recount, descriptive, informative, etc.) and get the opportunity to familiarize themselves with these different texts so that they can develop greater confidence in comprehending texts they encounter in daily life.
